We went to North Myrtle Beach last week with Grannie and Papaw. We stayed at the end of an island where the waves aren't very big and at low tide there are some tidal pools and calm water. Josephine really enjoyed that. She wasn't a fan of the big waves, though. We also spent a lot of time in the pool. :) Here are a bunch of pictures from the beach.
Josephine playing on the beach at low tide. She liked walking through the puddles. We saw a bunch of seaguls on the beach near here. They all started flying and I asked Josephine where she thought they were going. Her response was, "Probably back to the condo." That made me laugh.
Papaw holding Ada during a walk. He's frowning because I'm taking a picture, not because he didn't want to hold Ada. : )
Josephine on Nathan's shoulders. She looks like such a big kid now! Not much of a toddler anymore. She'll be 3 in 3 months!
It's hard to see, but her name and the date is written in the sand in front of her.
Jumping in the puddles.
Walking on the beach.
Josephine liked chasing and screaming at the seaguls. Just to be stubborn, she would call them "eagles" even though she knew what they were.
Ada on the beach being fed by Grannie Ratch. Ada didn't spend much time on the beach. It's pretty bright and everyone is wearing sunscreen. She stayed in the condo alot.
Grannie, Ada, and Josephine after we got up for the morning. Grannie gave Josephine several presents, including the doctor's kit you see on the couch.
We went to Ripley's Aquarium one rainy evening. Josephine wanted to show Ada the fish.
Josephine decided to be afraid of the sharks when we went through the tunnel. She got over it after awhile. I'm not sure what they were looking at in this picture.
Us on the beach. This is as close to a family photo we have from the beach.
Another gift Jo got from Grannie was a cd player. She turned into a teenager at that moment. She spent a good chunk of time ignoring us and just listening to music. She used it so much that we had to replace the batteries on the way home.
Jo wasn't a big fan of the sand, but she did play a little. They were building Cinderella's castle here. Everything is about Cinderella these days.
Josephine playing in the shallow water.
Kicking and splashing in the water.
Here are some videos.
Josephine on the broken boogie board we found in our condo.
Ada's first and only feel of the ocean.
Josephine petting the sting rays and Nathan getting splashed.
Josephine swimming in the pool.
