Pictures

The frog is her best friend. She talks to it all the time.

We're going to the beach at the end of April so I got her some sun glasses and a bathing suit. : )

She smiles big for her dad. She gives me the stare.

Stories

Hello, all. I'm having trouble downloading pictures to the site. I'll add them as soon as I can.

I need help from you guys. I'm collecting stories for Josephine about her family. If you have any stories you think are worth repeating and she might like to hear a few years down the road, either send me an email or leave them as a comment. Other people will be able to read them if you use the comment option. I know my mom has been writing alot of stories, although I don't know what they are ... that could be dangerous ... : )

Josephine update:

  • She's starting to sit up on her own for several minutes at a time now, as long as she doesn't get too excited. She's actually sitting on my lap right now as I'm typing this (she loves the computer screen).
  • The whole sleeping-through-the-night thing isn't going so well. She woke up four times last night before getting up this morning. Yeah, I'm sleepy.
  • Her new favorite toy is a piece of Christmas tissue paper. She likes the noise it makes and it's easy for her to hold on to.
  • She's working on rolling over from her back to her stomach. Her right arm prevents her from rolling over all the way.
  • We're looking at a couple touch-and-feel books. She seems to understand the idea, or, at least, she copies me when I touch the page.

Like I said, I hope to get the pictures up soon.

3 Month Pictures

Here are the pictures I promised last week. We only had a few to choose from because Josephine started crying, but there are still some good ones.

Josephine Update:

  • She's gotten really good at holding her head up and looking around for long periods of time when she's on her tummy.
  • She'll play with her "play gym" for a longer period time now (laying on her back). She's talking up a storm to the toys dangling from it right now. I wish she'd talk to me like that . . . . : )
  • She can grab things with her thumb and index finger with her right hand with no problem now. We were playing with a playing card last night. She can grab things with her left hand too, just not in a pinching motion yet. She can also grab things with two hands.

3 Months Old!

Josephine is 3 months old now!!!

Josephine spent a majority of her 3-month birthday crying, eating, and sleeping. Boy, was she cranky. She's been in a better mood that past couple of days, though. She's getting her 3-month pictures made today. I'll post some later if I end up getting the CD. You have to spend a certain amount of money to get the CD, of course.

Josephine update:

  • Josephine has laughed a few times, starting last week. She does it mostly for her dad. Go figure. She likes him better.
  • She's gotten really good at laying on her tummy and keeping her head held up for long periods of time. She'll look at her toys (especially the frog), but hasn't really reached out for them when she's on her tummy.
  • If she's sitting up she'll reach for her toys and put them in her mouth. She'll sit up on her own for a short while if she's not too excited and moving around. I expect her to be able to do it on her own by 4 months, but we'll see. She may decide to work on something else instead.
  • She knows how to put the passy back in her mouth if it's fallen out. She will use the back of her hand (if she's not too mad) and push it back in.

Twelve weeks old.

Josephine was 12 weeks old yesterday!

What a busy weekend we had! We had people over Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday night (plus Mary's wedding shower that night too). We had church Sunday morning and dinner at Granna's Sunday night and Monday night. Then school on Tuesday. Whew! Josephine is sleeping now. : )

Josephine update:

  • Josephine regularly chews on her hands now. She will look at them every once in awhile, her feet too.
  • She's learning to play with toys by touching them. She has a toy that hangs in front of her in her car seat that she really likes.
  • She learns games easily now. Everytime you hold her hands when she's in front of you, she leans forward. We work on her neck muscles by sitting up without the floppy neck. She loves it. She also likes the game when you make kissy noises and slowing lean in to kiss her on the cheek. Nathan and Moug play that game with her alot.
  • She's fairly sturdy sitting up now. She can sit in the boppy by herself (as long as she's not tired).
  • She was doing better about sleeping longer at night, until last night anyway. She had been going 7-8 hours between feedings the past few days, but not last night. That's ok, though, she went to sleep early last night.
  • She talks all the time now, especially when she's about to go to sleep. If it's peaceful enough and I'm rocking her, she'll talk to me for five minutes or so. I don't know if she's trying to keep herself awake or what.
