Mountains

We went to the mountains last weekend with Grannie and Papaw. Josephine got her first taste of the cold mountain stream at the Y. It took her a little bit to warm up to it (no pun intended), but she had a great time. Here are some pictures Grannie took and a video at the bottom. I tried to upload another video, but it just woudn't work.


The water was really cold, as you can see by Nathan's face.


Josephine wanted to go to the rock in the middle of the stream, so Nathan carried her out there. They're giving each other high fives.


Elizabeth finally caved and joined them.


We went on the Cades Cove loop. We let Josephine out of her carseat so she can see better. She climbed in back with me at one point and wanted her seatbelt and headphones on.

Here are some pictures from the past few weeks


Elizabeth has been tired lately (okay, for the past 7 months). Josephine likes to lay in bed too.

I can't think of any stories in particular that I wanted to share, just a few random things.

Ada is doing well. Ten more weeks before she's here! I'm starting to feel like Sigourni Weaver (sp?) in Alien, but that's to be expected. :) Ada likes to poke her foot out as far as possible (she should be about 15 inches long at this point). She had the hiccups for the first time the other night. Her back was resting on my hip, so I could feel them there.

Josephine showed the first signs of jealousy towards Ada a couple weeks ago. We were at Grannie and Papaw Moore's when Ada started moving around. Papaw came over to feel Ada move and Josephine said, "Stop!". She didn't like sharing Papaw's attention at all. She's also getting jealous/upset when Nathan gets home from work and he and I talk, not giving her 100% attention. She gets so mad! We're making a conscious effort to spend more one-on-one time with her these days.

Josephine is really picking up on my change in size these days. : ) Nathan was putting on a Hawaiian shirt last week and Josephine got upset. She said that he couldn't wear it. When he asked her why, she said, "It's too small for you. It's Mommy's!". Ouch. Thanks, Jo. Also, she was saying that I couldn't do something (I can't remember what now) because I was too heavy. Thanks, again, Jo. : ) Sitting on my lap to read books has become quite a task. She has to sit beside my belly in the rocker. She's still half laying down and half sitting up that way. It's very uncomfortable for her to lay on my chest and stomach, but it's her favorite position when she's tired. So much change, poor thing.

Last week when we went to the library, she decided the night before that she was going to get 1 moon book and 5 pig books. We went into the library and she headed straight for the moon books. Once she found the book she wanted (and I chose a couple more too), she headed to the kid's section. She found If You Give a Pig a Pancake then decided not to get anymore pig books (I only let her get on Laura Numeroff book at a time now). The number 5 is very important to her these days.

We went to the mountains yesterday. I need to edit some video before I put it on the blog. I'll post it later.
