North Myrtle Beach - May 2010

Here are a lot of pictures of our beach trip with Grannie and Papaw Moore. It's harder to get many pictures with three kids to take care of now, but I'm trying.

Josephine loves being the big sister.

It rained on Monday so we went to the aquarium in Myrtle Beach. Ada slept in the sling the whole time and Ada was ready for a nap. We enjoyed it, though.

We went to Margaritaville for dinner after the aquarium. Don't worry, Ada is drinking Sprite. Josephine was able to read "Margaritaville" in the sign in the picture. Maybe I should watch her PBS shows more closely -- what are they teaching her?

Josephine and Nathan made a sandcastle despite Ada's best efforts to destroy it.

Josephine throwing sand into the water.

Ada playing in the little waves.

Ada put sand on Josephine's arm. Josephine wasn't too happy about that.

Grannie Ratch feeding Suzannah on the beach.

Papaw reading to the girls. I don't remember Ada sitting still for so long before. She loves her Papaw!

Ada playing with the goggles.

Papaw holding Suzannah. She slept alot.

Josephine and Ada playing in the tidal pool.

Suzannah slumped over in her car seat during a nap. She always leans to her right no matter what seat she's in.

Josephine loved the pool. She was tall enough to reach the bottom in the shallow end.

This picture makes me laugh every time I see it. Josephine is going through a phase where she doesn't like to smile for pictures, just make a weird face.

But Nathan can usually get her to smile. I love this picture.

Ada liked the pool too, except it was a bit cold for her.

Josephine was all about jumping to us from the side. I am amazed at how far she would jump.

Nathan and Ada giving nose kisses.

Finger Painting

I had fun taking pictures outside while Ada had her first finger painting session. I knew better than to let her do it inside so I had to wait until it was warm outside. Ada wasn't that excited about it, but it made for cute pictures anyway. Suzannah was asleep inside while we did this, so no Suzannah pictures in this post.

Easter 2010

Another out-of-order post, this one from Easter.

We dyed Easter eggs the day before Easter. Ada actually did a pretty good job. I can't post any pictures of Josephine doing this because she wasn't properly dressed for the internet. Both girls enjoyed coloring the eggs then putting them in the dye. Ada started dipping her fingers into the vinegar water. Nathan and I paniced at first but then realized it was just water with food coloring, not that we let her continue. Good old Ada.

Josephine on Easter morning wearing her flower headband. Both Josephine and Ada got a headband. I thought Ada would be the one to like it and wear it. Josephine never likes to wear headbands. This one is an exception. She likes to wear it to church.

The girls went on 3 egg hunts on Easter Sunday. Their first was at our house in the back yard. The grass was still really wet so we put rain boots on Ada. Ada did a great job finding eggs.

Josephine and Ada in the Easter dresses and flower headbands at church.

After church we went to Grannie and Papaw Moore's house for lunch. They had an egg hunt there too. Their yard is much bigger and they had a lot more eggs to find.

Papaw put up a new big girl swing for Ada on the swingset. She balanced on it pretty well.

Easter evening we went to Granna and Pap's farm for dinner. They got to have an egg hunt with Naomi here. Granna actually puts money in these eggs. At least Ada didn't try to eat the money, there was candy too.

Ada loves the car. She got to ride in it after she found some eggs.

Barn Dance

I'm going backwards in time here, trying to catch up from the past couple months. These pictures are from our church's annual Barn Dance at the farm.

Ada eating her dinner. Doesn't she look comfortable.

Naomi and Lily dancing together and Ada watching the crowd.

Ada dancing. She made up her own style.

Josephine wouldn't look at the camera, go figure. Not sure why Ada is on the floor . . . .

Not from the barn dance, obviously. Josephine wanted to watch Suzannah being born, so I found some YouTube videos of actual births to hopefully dissuade her if it was too much for her. Didn't work. She still asks to watch more birthing videos.

Suzannah Mae, part 2

Having 3 kids at home makes it difficult to get out the camera, but here are some pictures from the past couple weeks. Suzannah is doing great, minus a little bit of jaundice. She is back up to her birth weight of 6 lbs 3 oz. She goes back to the doctor on Monday to check her biliruben again. She is very strong, even as little as she is. She's been holding her head up and looking around since she was born. She recognizes my voice, along with Josephine and Nathan's. She sleeps most of the time still. Most days she has 3 waking periods that last 1-2 hours. I feed her once or twice during the middle of the night and she sleeps really well, usually in bed with me.

Mom and baby napping together.

Our jaundice baby laying in the sun.

She's so tiny.

Our first picture of the three girls together. It only took 2 weeks or so . . . .

Suzannah's response to the constant flash of the camera.
