September and October 2010

Long time, no blog. I'll just use the pictures as prompts for what's happened

Ada and Josephine had Fifth Disease in September. That's what the rash is on Ada's cheeks in the picture. Ada was pretty pitiful for a week or so. Josephine started out with a really high fever, but the rest of the time it wasn't too bad.

Josephine started soccer this fall! This picture if from her first game. She had a great time playing especially with Nathan as the coach! She improved as the season went on. At the beginning she ran around the group in circles not paying any attention to the ball. By the end she would get inside the group every once in awhile. She smiled the whole time during the games, every once in awhile flashing those of us on the sideline a thumbs up. She's looking forward to next season!

One evening after I came home from work we all played on the floor for awhile. They were all in playful moods. Ada kept jumping on my back while Josephine and I played Chutes and Ladders. Suzannah, who we call Mae Mae at home, loved watching the girls play. Ada has started using the potty so she runs around without a diaper most days.

Ada loved going to Josephine's soccer games. She wore her "Ladybug Soccer" outfit each time. It was hard at first for her to understand that she couldn't go out on the field, but she got it by the end of the season and wouldn't cross the while sideline.

Josephine always had an interesting outfit going on for her soccer games. This time she decided to pull her socks all the way up.

Naomi and Granna would come to the soccer games, along with Grannie and Papaw. This day Granna had lots of granddaughters on her lap.

Ada loves Suzannah! Suzannah loves the attention most of the time.

Papaw reading Ada a book. She loves her "Poppow".

Suzannah had her first cereal at 6 months. She gagged the whole time. She's gotten better about it in the past couple weeks. When she gets a new taste, she makes a horrible face and gags. No crying and she eventually eats it, but it's slow going. She's eaten rice cereal, green beans, and as of today peas. I have to mix the vegetables in with the cereal so she'll eat them without gagging, but it works.

At her six month checkup, Suzannah weighed in at 14 pounds 3 ounces. She is healthy other than her torticollis. We start physical therapy next Friday. It's taken forever to get an appointment! Suzannah is at the beginning stages of crawling. She stays up on her hands and knees when she's on the floor. She kind of inch-worms her way across the floor. She will move her legs in the crawling way but her hands aren't moving yet. She's a really happy, easy baby except at 2 am. And 4 a.m And 5 a.m. And so on. She usually takes a good morning nap though.

Ada is talking more and more each day. She moved up to 3 word sentences now. Her favorite sentence seems to be "Me too!". She's still allergic to peanuts, as we found out yesterday when she found an M&M on the floor and swallowed it before we could get it. She was pretty sick for a few hours. She still goes to Mother's Day Out twice a week and seems to really enjoy it. I hope it's not a normal thing, but one day she got mad at a boy for taking a puzzle away from her so she got another one and hit her over the head with it. Why take something back when you can punish? That's Ada! She really is a happy, loving child. : )

Josephine is happy at her Montessori school. Being in school 5 days a week is a little hard for her. Four days would probably be better, but that's not the way it goes. Her teacher says that she is a model student and is doing great! No problems out of her at all. I wish she was as well behaved at home, but I'm very glad she is making progress at school. She has several friends that she's made at school. She's actually singing at choir on Wednesday nights now! Last year she would only sing one song even though she had been in the same class for 2 years. Such progress!
