Ada is 8 months old already!

Ada and her beautiful smile.

Ada holds her head at odd angles sometimes.

Josephine being silly.

Ada after playing with Josephine and dinner.

Josephine being Josephine.
It's been awhile since the last post, so I'll try to remember all of the updates.
Ada is rolling both ways now. She just started rolling from her back to her stomach in the past couple days. It's only a matter of time before she starts rolling all over the room. She isn't crawling or creeping yet, but gets very excited laying on her stomach and kicks her feet and holds out her arms.
Ada eats solids for breakfast, lunch, and dinner now. She has had oatmeal, green beans, peas, sweet potatoes, cantaloupe, bananas, and applesauce. Her favorite seems to be green beans. I've given her tiny pieces of bread, but that's about it for solid solid food, everything else is pureed.
Josephine is learning how to spell our names. She has known how to spell her name and NaNa's name for awhile. She will tell you that Ada's name is spelled "A-D-A-D". Makes sense because she is J-O-J-O and Naomi is N-A-N-A. She's working on Beth and Dad and Nathan right now. Sometimes she gets it, sometimes she doesn't.
We've been working on being polite this week. More specifically, saying 'please' and asking in a nice way. Josephine was sounding pretty awful there for a few days. It's much better now, but we're still working on it.
Something that I've found funny about Josephine is the songs she asks me to sing before she goes to sleep. For almost a year she requested "Found a Peanut". (I edited out the verses about dying.) I was thankful when she changed her mind and I didn't have to sing it twice a day anymore. A couple months ago she started requesting "Down to the River to Pray" by Allison Kraus. (She also liked to listen to it over and over while she was playing.) A few weeks ago she decided that she wanted to hear "Sabra Girl" by Nickel Creek. It's a very pretty song, but very depressing. I assume she has no idea what it's about. Last night she started crying about a half hour after she went to bed. When I went up to ask her what was wrong she was crying because she wanted me to sing "Josephine" by Brandi Carlile (I'm sure someone else has sung this too). I haven't heard the song enough to know the words. She cried the most pitiful cry I've heard in a long time when I told her that. She is so proud of that song. She will be going to bed after I finish this, so we'll see what she wants tonight. I still don't know the words to "Josephine".
I've been trying to go to the zoo at least once a week this month. I don't if we've been every week, but it's been close. Last Tuesday I took Ada, Josephine, and Naomi. I had them all in a wagon. Ada had her own seat and Naomi sat on Josephine's lap in the other seat. We only made it to the giraffes. The girls decided they wanted to eat at that point, and once I sat down I realize how tired I was from pulling them all. I didn't want to push my luck, so I told them that we were going home after that. No one complained and it worked out well.
Time to get Jo to bed. I'll do my best to post more frequently.

It's so cute the way Ada turns her head like that. I'm really looking forward to when Isaac can go to the zoo with the girls.
