Josephine running at the riverfront.
Two weekends ago was the Rubber Duck Race on the riverfront. We took Josephine and met the Randolph's. We couldn't get Josephine to do any of the activities. She would say that she wanted to do something (like ride the small carousel) but she wouldn't do it when it came time. All the people intimidated her and made her nervous, I think. Maybe next year. : )
We were able to drag Papaw away from the adoption tent long enough to get a picture.
Josephine did love the slide. We did it 3 times.
Uncle Terry was there handing out stickers.
Sometimes a little girl just needs her daddy and a nap.
Naomi has come over a couple times this past week. Josephine loved waking up to find Naomi downstairs! She's not always too sure about sharing all of her toys, but she does pretty well. Sometimes the two of them chase each other down the hallway. Other times they ignore each other and play with different toys. My favorite is when Josephine jumps on her Zerbra toy and Naomi sits on her knees and bounces right along with her.
Naomi "painted" the chalkboard with water while Josephine ate breakfast.
The girls played with the felt shapes for a little while.
Naomi is 15 months old today (although this picture was taken last Friday).
It was nearing naptime, but the girls cooperated for a picture. It is extremely hard to get the two of them looking at the camera at the same time. Getting them to smile at the same time while looking at the camera is almost impossible. : )
Josephine is still getting her eye teeth. Only one has broken through her gums. Her sleeping has gotten back to normal, though. She can't be without the passy for more than 5 minutes, though. The rest of the teeth will come in eventually.
I took Josephine to the library for the first time last week. Her eyes got so big when she walked in and saw all the books. They have a nice area for the kids. She kept pulling the books off the shelf. I had to put them back on in the right order. I couldn't keep up with her. : ) We checked out three books. "The Three Pigs" by Wiesner. It's a weird version of the original story where the pigs leave their book and walk into a better book. Josephine chose it. She cried all the way home because she wanted to look at the book. I got a couple more books, but she didn't care for them. We'll go back again sometime this week.
Josephine has really gotten into throwing balls. She's getting really good at it, too. It doesn't matter if she has anyone to throw it to or not. She throws it across the room then runs after it. She's also into running down the hallway. She's found a starting line when there wood flooring changes to carpet. She bends over with her hands behind her and shouts "Go!" Then takes off down the hallway. It's really funny when she trips over her own feet or runs into the wall in the process. (She's not going fast enough to hurt herself.)
The Little Gym started its new semester last week. Josephine is in a new class with bigger kids. She did great on Wednesday. She participated in almost everything. She even walked on the balance beam by herself for a few feet. She can walk across holding one of our hands with no problem.

Painting on the blackboard with water and felt shapes on the board are great ideas. So simple yet interesting and entertaining for the girls.
