Suzannah Mae turned 1 this month! We had her party the weekend before her birthday. We had a pizza lunch (that she slept through) then had birthday cake and ice cream. I can't believe she is 1 already!
Mae Mae eating her cake. I can't get her to eat hardly anything, but she sure did like the icing!
Her birthday cake. I made a little one just for her. The big flowers were for everyone else.
Mae Mae with her Papaw.
More icing.
She had to take a bath mid-party before opening presents.
Mae Mae and Ada loved all the presents. They always fight over the toys. Aunt Moug got her the pink butterfly doll.

The older girls really loved the present I got for Mae Mae.
At one, Suzannah does a lot of standing and squatting, but no walking yet. She has two bottom teeth with two top teeth coming in. She has her own words for JoJo and Ada. You can figure them out if you know who she's looking at. She also can say mama, dada on a regular basis. She loves stuffed animals and dolls. She gets very excited to see her sisters after they have been apart. Her favorite animals are dogs. She still sleeps in our room. I value sleep too much to get up multiple times a night to rock her back to sleep when she wakes up. I just bring her to bed with me (sometimes with a bottle) and she sleeps with us the rest of the night. I know she's getting old for that, but it's what works for now. She will probably move into Jo's room in the future.
Suzannah loves music. She loves to play her harmonica and recorder. She plays with drums a lot too. She loves to dance and clap when music comes on. She gets excited when we turn on Little Einstein's. She knows when to raise her hands and does the pat-clap, kinda (for those of you who know the show). Her favorite naughty thing to do is climb the stairs. We have to keep the gate up. We can't leave the door open to the outside because she will take off crawling to the road. Josephine never would cross the threshold. Ada hated the feel of the mat in front of the front door so it wasn't a big worry with her.
Suzannah's personality is a mix between Josephine and Ada. She's happy all the time like Ada was and studies things like Josephine. She enjoys her few hours of one-on-one time with her parents after her sisters go to bed. Most of the time she crosses the couch back and forth between us. She likes to be held with her bottle to go to sleep. Nathan usually lays down with her while I usually rock her to sleep. Getting Mae Mae to eat is harder than her sisters. Mae Mae prefers her bottle to anything else. She'll eat infant cereal sometimes, every once in awhile she'll eat veggie or fruit baby food. She will eat a little bit of normal rice and beans. Other things she will sometimes eat are strawberries, bananas, and Cheerios. She doesn't like peaches, turkey, or chicken.
We are so blessed to have Mae Mae in our family!
