Random Pictures of the Girls
A picture of Ada on her tummy. She has no problem pushing her arms out to hold herself up.
Another big smile.
Ada watching Josephine and Naomi.
Dogpile! (No one was hurt, I promise.)
Josephine showing off the candy cane ornaments that she made. She calls them candy "cans". I don't know why she squints her eyes when she smiles for a picture.
Josephine's Birthday
We celebrated Josephine's birthday the previous weekend with a family party. But, on her real birthday, we got our first snow of the season that day. It didn't stick around long, but it was enough to have fun in. Then we took her out to lunch (McDonald's). We went from lunch to her friend Lily's birthday party. (She got to have cake for her birthday. : ) ) After quite a struggle of getting her in her carseat and buckled in, we came home and she took a nap. During her nap, Nathan put up the Christmas tree and lights. She was excited to decorate it when she woke up. It was a busy day! Happy birthday, Josephine!
(These pictures are out of chronological order, but I'm too lazy to switch them all around.)
Josephine is giving Ada her toy. She's such a caring big sister.
Ada in her Christmas outfit.
Josephine putting her candy canes on the tree. You can tell by the pants that she put them on herself.
Josephine showing the camera the ornament Grannie got her for Christmas.
Josephine standing in the show. We're making progress -- she wouldn't do that last winter!
Updates
Ada has grown so much the past couple weeks! It's becoming very difficult to carry her in her carseat! She'll have her (overdue) 4-month checkup soon, and we'll find out them how much she weighs. She's also getting much stronger. You can tell from the pictures that pushing her upper body up is an old trick now. Rolling from belly to back is easy for her too. I put her in an exersaucer yesterday and she really liked it. She can sit up well enough to do it now.
How come Josephine is 3 now, but still acts like a 2 year old? ; ) We have our good days and our bad days together. Today is a good day. She didn't fall asleep until midnight or so. I purposely woke her up early this morning so she would get a good nap early in the day, hoping she'll go to sleep at a better time tonight. The took an early, normal-length nap this afternoon. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she'll go to bed around 8.
We had our Christmas performance last night at church. There were a lot of songs. At one point, Josephine got to the outside aisle and started dancing. She looked so cute. After the performance, everyone got to eat sweets. That was the beginning of the end. I think she had 3 servings of chocolate. Shortly after, I sent her to the chapel to run some of the sugar off. She enjoyed chasing, leading, and playing with the other kids. We stayed for quite awhile so she could play. We got home around 8:30pm. We put her to bed around 9:30 or so. She was still making noise when I was going to sleep after 11pm. I am very thankful she is in a good mood today.
Up until the past couple weeks, Josephine always waited for us to come get her to come downstairs in the morning or after her nap. She's started coming down on her own. This has made her much more aware of daytime and nighttime. She woke up around 6:30am one morning, confused because it was light outside, but it was still too early to get up. She's also confused about taking a nap when it's light out. She lives on a 14-day week schedule. Every time she wakes up, it's a new day to her.
Ada is telling me that it's time to wrap this up. : )
